Essentials of Islamic Worship Course

This course is designed to provide a foundational understanding of the key acts of worship in Islam, including purification (ṭahāra), prayer (ṣalāh), fasting (ṣawm), charity (zakāh), and pilgrimage (ḥajj). Through a step-by-step approach, students can hope to learn how to perform these acts of devotion properly as well as being introduced to their spiritual significance. Designed for beginners and delivered in modules, the course aspires to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical insight, fostering a holistic appreciation of worship as a means of drawing closer to the Divine and cultivating an ethical and reflective life.

For clarity, as an introductory offering, the course will neither delve into intricacies of fiqh nor cover differences in scholarly opinion.

Classes are held on Wednesdays from 7:15pm to 8:45pm. The next module on and prayer (ṣalāh) and fasting (ṣawm) will commence on Wednesday, 14 January 2026 and run for five weeks.
