The Ditchley Conference ‘Science in Muslim Societies: Past and Present’ was held on 11–13 May 2012.
Introductory remarks were made by HRH Raja Zarith Sofiah Idris (Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia). Discussion focussed on ‘Historical and Philosophical Dimensions’ and ‘The State of Science in Contemporary Muslim Societies’ from political, socio-economic and cultural perspectives with the objective of a better public understanding of science in Muslim societies.
The Conference was attended by an international group of leaders, scholars, academics, and policy-makers.
